Elon Musk Contemplates Surgery Prior to Potential Cage Match Against Mark Zuckerberg

Elon Musk has noted, “The showdown between the verbose billionaires might face a delay in the coming times.” He has hinted at the possibility of requiring surgery, which adds to the growing uncertainty surrounding the planned cage match with Mark Zuckerberg.

Musk revealed via X (previously known as Twitter) on Sunday night that he’s undergoing an MRI for his neck and upper back. The verdict on whether surgery is necessary before his potential face-off with Zuckerberg will be delivered later this week. This certainly isn’t an endeavor to secure a medical excuse to evade the duel.

The surgery not only has the potential to indefinitely delay the fight but could also have repercussions for Musk’s involvement in his various enterprises. CNBC points out that Tesla’s stock price experienced a decrease of over two percent on Monday morning. Apart from his role at the automobile company, Musk also holds the positions of owner and chief technical officer at X, as well as CEO of SpaceX.

The scheduled fight lacked a confirmed date. While Zuckerberg had suggested an August 26 fight night, Musk had not responded, as indicated by the Meta CEO’s statement on Threads: “Not holding my breath.”

Both individuals have been training for the anticipated showdown and engaging in public banter in the interim. Whenever the event takes place, Musk has stated that it will be live-streamed on X, with all proceeds being donated to a veterans’ charity. Zuckerberg couldn’t resist adding a jest towards Musk even in this regard, quipping, “Shouldn’t we opt for a more dependable platform that can effectively raise funds for charity?”
